I didn’t misspell the word…I know it should be Olympic. I have no idea why this sign is spelled with an “I” instead of a “Y”. It hangs close to the corner of Old Olympic Highway and Cays Road. Do any of the locals have any ideas…or know the story? Goggling it gave me nothing. Hum, I guess I’ll have to stop and ask. Oh yes…and no wisecracks about this being a female cow and “Bessie” being a boy. I’ve decided to call him “Bob”.

Happy Halloween! Bundle up those kiddos and make sure they have flashlights. Moms and Dads…it would be great if you would go with your kids….and I love giving candy to those who remember to say “thank you”!

Come back tomorrow for a view of “blue”. It’s theme day on DCPB and I can’t wait to see what blue things you have all posted.

I took this one as I was leaving the bluff…yesterday’s post.

On the way to the Voice of America campground at the Dungessness Spit, are two pullouts where you can get wonderful views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you look close at the second thumbnail you can see two ships laying alongside, waiting for the morning before they take off again.

I spotted this poster at the Grange last weekend…just a heads up for the locals.

On my way to a meeting I spottted these off West Anderson Road. I just thought they were pretty.

At the intersection of the Dungeness River Bridge on East Anderson Road, you will find the Old Dungeness School House. Although the events section has not been kept up to date, if you click on the link, you can visit and read about an important part of the past here on the Sequim Prairie.

P.S. Regarding yesterday’s post, it has been pointed out to me that ‘Bessie” has horns…could it be that Bessie is a boy? On a closer look at my photo, I see no evidence of a “bag”, as in udder. Goodness!

I don’t know why they call them “Bessie”, but Bessie and her baby live on the back road out of my subdivision. I see them some mornings.
