In memory of our mother.  She loved her garden and it’s hard to grow things in the Texas Panhandle.  Never the less with the help of my sister, she always managed to have lovely plants and flowers.  There were many fine things about Mother.  I will always remember her as a lady.

Harvest is a bit late this year.  I was at a friends before I left….usualy we have picked plenty for pies and eating by this time, but some of them are just a bit slow coming on.  Do you have blackberries in your area?

I’m still in Texas…you don’t see them in this part of the world.

And it is…my friends Maria and Juan live across from Nash’s Farm Store.  Their flowers are wonderful, as evidenced in the thumbnails below.  If you are local…you should visit.

Stone Statuary on West Sequim Bay has every conceivable type of yard art one might or might not want for their gardens. I liked the way these are all lined up.

I am fairly sure most of the moms in Sequim are well aware of when school starts…and the kids are either very excited or dreading the day they have to get up early. I always look forward to the first day of school. Every year since my grandson entered pre school, my daughter, my son-in-law and I have walked with him the first day of school. I just want to see his room and where he will sit. I think this would have been my last year…he is entering 3rd grade and I have had to promise not to embarrass him in front of his friends. Ah, they grow up too fast! As it is, I am in Texas with my brothers and sisters.

I happened to be at the beach this weekend and captured this young lady. How I wish I could still do that!

In this part of the world, some of us still get out mail in an old fashion mailbox. This is not mine…I wish, I wish, but I really like it! All of the boxes on this stand were nicely painted.
