I think Sequim is known for a lot of things…among them are the friendly people, the wonderful places to walk, our mountains, and the nearby Strait of Juan de Fuca. And I bet you thought I was going to mention lavender. As of late I’ve noticed there are several spots where benches are sprouting up, an invitation to stop a spell, rest and enjoy the view. This lovely one is in front of an auto parts store on East Washington.
Located on North Cays Road, Fat Cat is open from April till the first of November. Owner, Jee Miller, has a delightful assortment of plants, local artistry, and some pretty darn good tea. She is a fun lady to visit with and certainly knowledgeable about her products. Several nice plants came home with me. The thumbnail also goes to show, not all fall color is what you might think.
It is almost time to start cleaning up the garden. I stopped at “Fat Cat” on North Cay Road today…and look what I found! This would be a perfect compost system. Now to figure out how to build it…and smile really nice at the big grandson.
The Sequim Gazetteand Sequim This Week both had photos in their newspapers of the maze at Pumpkinland. This prompted me to make a quick stop on my way home. I really liked the way they had the farm equipment lined up with the changing leaves in the background. They open this weekend for the delight of young and old in our area.
