August 1, 2007 - August Theme Day…Typical Breakfast

breakfast2.JPG
Today is Theme Day and you are invited to see how the world starts it’s day. I went out to eat breakfast twice and each time forgot to take a picture of what it suppose to look like before someone started eating. You are looking at a “Senior or Kids Breakfast”…the egg was over easy…one piece of bacon, and the pancakes have been buttered. The mug is full of a good breakfast tea. Yum, yum!

There are currently 94 bloggers participating in today’s theme. As always, due to time differences, not all of the blogs post at the same time. Visit often!

This is cheery and bright, the drink of tea is interesting, I dont know whether much tea is drunk in your country, not being a seasoned traveller!

This looks good. Not sure I could eat that much - it’d keep me going all day! Love the atmosphere of this photograph.

Classic! Pancakes (pannekoeken) are very popular here but not for breakfast!

but you’ve left the tea-bag in the cup!
it gets stewed and awful if left in!

are those runny egg yokes?

I love eggs like that!
I am actually hungry now.. It’s almost dinner time here, but I think I wanna have breakfast for dinner!

I love runny eggs and crispy bacon and after a friend of mine went to the US and educated me, when they returned, I can now eat bacon and pancakes together - but don’t know about the egg!!!!

It looks like we have interrupted you mind-mouthful - sorry!!!!

This breakfast speaks volumes to me. The fact thatitcalled a “Seniors” or “Kids” I assume refers to the size. The one thing that remains incredible to me is the portion servings of a typical American meal - HUMUNGOUS. Cos, to me, this is a normal, adult sized breakfast! I know not everyone in the US actually eats all those huge portions, which also leads to an incredible amount of food waste.

When we travelled in the US as 2 adults and 1 child, we’d often not order at all for the child, or would order 1 adult and 1 kids’ meal - it was a great way to save money!

The scrambled eggs and pancake are my choice of breakfast! I’m drooling over them now. We have half boiled eggs as our breakfast, too.

Happy August Norma!
Hey,if you’re not gonna finish that……
I think it would be great to have breakfast early in Sequim.
Such a cute town the way you show it off.

Now, this is breakfast, and I could try a different tea each morning.

That’s a kid’s portion, looks very generous. I had the same thought as Kate, that you might have something with lavender in your breakfast. I’m actually working through a very nice jar of lavender honey, yum! — Thank you for your visit and nice comments at Villigen :-)

Really delicious and colourful breakfast.
I love scrambled eggs, and tea too
Great photo.
I made alu parathas with mint chutney, but remembered to photograph the breakfast only after we finished the last paratha. So, the next day, I prepared Sabudana khichdi and clicked it.

Well, another breakfast trying to ruin my diet intentions and cholesterol reduction… I’ll try to resist!

I love breakfast out! Yours is the first photo I’ve seen today of a partially eaten meal. . .I think it makes a nice take on our theme. Puts us right there behind the plate, almost tasting it.

Yep, a quintessential American breakfast out!

Kerry-Anne said,

Now that’s my kind of breakfast - but I’d need more than one slice of bacon, for sure. Bacon is one of my favourite things - pity it’s so darned unhealthy.

Marie said,

That’s my favorite type of breakfast too. But I don’t have it often……

Barb said,

Great photo of pancakes, just wondering where the maple syrup is to make it a perfect meal!!!

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog and for the comments.

PS> Next time you are in Canada you’ll have to go to a Tim Hortons for some coffee and donuts!

I like pancakes! I hadn’t buttered the pancakes before but just did last Monday at McDonald’s. My mom didn’t know to put butter on them when she would cook for me in my childhood.

Funny that the photo was taken half way through the meal. It shows how good the food was.
