I’ve made a concerted effort to feed the birds this summer. As of late I have been treated to watching this family visit the bird feeder at least once a day. Poppa quail is always on alert.

Technically this photo is not in Sequim…it is East in Discovery Bay. As I have driven by I would have a glimpse of an old building with part of a pier overlooking the bay. I always thought…stop and take a picture! This week when I finally stopped, I was disapointed to find it had almost collapsed. Moral…don’t wait.

Unlike my little operation, The lavender farms have ingenious but simple methods to dry the lavender. These chains are suspended from the ceiling of the barn at Angel Farm. As you can see in the thumbnail, bundles are then hung to dry and fans are turned in to circulate the air. This helps prevent mold and mildew. They made a perfect backdrop for a visitor showing off her new lavender wreath.
