When the Lavender Fest started 11 years ago, I remember going to Purple Haze with my friends Mark and Jessica. It was wonderful then…and now it is just breath taking. Click on the thumbnails to see the the drying shed, the farmhouse, lavender big and small, a finch feeding and several kinds of lavender I don’t have in my yard…I plan to remedy that situation. 20 days till the fest…are you coming?

There is a fun little antique store in Lehman Court. After a great lunch at Fortune Star, it is a done deal that you have to peek in. Who knows, they just might have something that has to go home with you. It’s happened to me! This little airplane is available for only $1,500. YOu can have the pair of them for $2,500. This concluded my Lehman Court series. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to Purple Haze…followed by RED on Sunday. Have a great weekend!

Lunch at Fortune Star in Lehman Court is a treat! There are lots of choices…the staff is friendly…the food is excellent…and the restaurant is located in the downtown corridor on East Washington. If it after 5…try the plum wine!
P.S….the faceless upside down person reflecting in the table top is my quilting buddy, Doris.

How many of the local viewers remember lehman.jpg? It is long gone…and I still miss the mural. Rumor had it that when the museum is built, part of the mural will be displayed. I hope so. Inside Lehman Court are several little shops…and a gym. I have several shots I will be featuring over the next couple of days.

Sunshine Herb and Lavender Farm their second year on the Lavender Festival Farm Tour, (July 20-22, 2007) is located to the East of Sequim. It is ideally located to be your first stop if you are coming from out of town, or your last stop when you are leaving. They haven’t had the farm open that many years, but the work and effort is very evident.
I’ve linked the thumbnails so that you can click and enlarge. (thank you to Patricia who called my attention to the fact this is their second year)

At the Master Gardners Demonstration Garden on Saturday, artists from the Sequim Art Guild set up shop and painted nature at its finest. I enjoyed watching the artists at work. Members had various styles and approaches. They also had some of their work for sale in the outdoor classroom.
I’ve included some thumbnails of the painters and more of the gardens.

The garden tour was quite an experience. I ran in to people I knew from various groups; lost my ticket after my third stop…went back, and sure enough someone had turned it in; missed one farm simply because I over scheduled my day; and arrived home, tired but with lots of ideas for low budget landscaping in my back yard.
After 307 posts, I have finally figured out how to add thumbnails in a way that you can click on them and they will enlarge. I’m a bit, slow…but getting there! I’ll be posting more this week.
