March 26, 2007 - Pass the Mic

passthemic.JPG
I missed the first two nights, but last Friday was the finals for the “Pass the Mic” competition. Wow! amazing that we have so much talent in this community. This young lady is a High School Senior and won third place. I was disappointed to discover I did not have a picture of the winner. I guess I was just mesmerized by her voice. The event was sponsored by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Sequim. They had a silent auction and a live auction to support the charitiable work they do in our community and internationally. Great organization!

I’m traveling for the next two weeks (spring break). Hopefully I will have internet access…but then if you have been to my home town, you would know why that is not always possible. Thanks to Word Press, I will be posting everyday. I thought about doing a “Where in the World is the Lavenderlady” posting each day, but I think I will just give you highlights of what is suppose to be happening. Today i am suppose to leave about 9:30 a.m and head for Seattle, via some shopping malls. I need some new socks, shoes, and unmentionables. I will stay in Seattle tonight at a Park and Fly hotel. Do they have those in your country?

If I could change something about myself– it would be the ability to carry a tune. Music is such a solace for the soul!
