I’ve posted two pictures today. I loved the color of this house, the sunflowers, and the beautiful crisp sky. We are enjoying the last of an Indian Summer here on the Olympic Peninsula. A change in weather is forcast for next week. September and October are my two favorite months here in the Northwest. Note the wood carving in the lower left corner. You will see more of these in the next week.

In near by Port Angeles I spotted these sunflowers. Although past their prime, I was struck by their height and beautiful color.

Someday I want to be able to take photographs like Wildlight Photo Gallery artist Zach Holmes.

Sequim, like many small towns in the Northwest, often decorates the outside of building with murals that depict the area. This one is located on the Heather Creek building, next to Hurricane Coffee Company

We don’t have the beautiful colors I’ve observed in the Northeast, but occasinally you will catch a change in color that catches your eye.

I was waiting for a friend to arrive and looking for something to photograph. The light on these ferns caught my eye.

Located in Port angeles with brances in Forks, Neah Bay, Port Townsend, and on a limited basis in Sequim, Peninsula Community Collegebegins it’s Fall quarter today. Currently they provide a two year degree program and technical program to those interested in pursuing an education. A four year degree program will be offered in 2007. I have the honor and privilege to teach for the PCC in the English as a Second Language department at the Sequim site. I will also be transistioning into ABE/GED this year. Lots of fun challenges. This is a picture of the clock tower on the recently completed Student Services building. Not very impressive by old school standards, but pretty darn nice for a young community college.
