Here’s a re-post of a favorite shot from 2014. This is from the couples competition at the Clallam County Fair’s logging show. The couple shown is in a race against time to saw a round off the log between them. I like the action. And it seems like a metaphor for so many crazy moments in a marriage.

Eagle encore
We’ve begun seeing eagles again. I watched two from my kitchen window the other day as they rode thermals and soared lazy circles in the sky. I can think of exciting entertainment worth seeing but a free show like that? Truly makes my heart go pitter pat.
This collage is from a series of shots I took of a young eagle I saw last year. It was a personal highlight from 2014.

Theme Day: Photo of the Year
Happy New Year!
The photo challenge today for City Daily Photo participants is “Photo of the Year.” Mine captures a winter view of one of my favorite walking spots at Dungeness Recreation Area. I have a few other favorites I’ll show you in coming days.

Got resolutions?
Ok. I’ll admit to cheap metaphor, especially on the last day of 2014. But I like sunsets. And as the days got shorter and shorter it seemed like they were rolling around mighty fast this month. Get up, have breakfast. Do stuff. Have lunch. What? The sun’s setting already??
Goodbye, 2014!
And now it’s time for resolutions to welcome in a new year. I think I’ll work on getting up a little earlier. Try to see more daylight before the next sunset rolls around. How about you? What’s on your list?
