Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond
Here’s another autumn trail view from Dungeness Recreation Area. This trail leads to an open path along the side of a marsh. The golden leaves overhead are on the native bitter cherry trees which are presently putting on a beautiful autumn show which I will share in another post.
I’m snapping lots of pictures of the trails in Dungeness Recreation Area before the trees and shrubs go into hibernation.
Deer can be seen grazing everywhere now but easy sighting days are numbered in the Dungeness Recreation Area. Pheasant hunting will begin on October 6th and the deer lie low once the hunters come out. Hunting is on weekends after the area is stocked with pheasants that are raised for this purpose.
An evening walk along the Dungeness bluffs yields a view of the Dungeness Spit in the distance.
A sympathy post for those of you who are enduring a difficult summer. Sooner or later it’s got to end, right?

Cameron’s Strawberries has opened for the season and the faithful are making the most of it.
Even now, early in the season and after a rainy day, the scent of strawberries was irresistible. Half of these people were probably just innocently driving by when their noses took over. Strawberries take no prisoners.
