Java was lying on her back for a belly rub when I met her in a store recently. She knows she’s cute. And cats aren’t the only animals who have staff. Java’s taking applications.

Smiley scat
I can’t imagine that human hands were involved in creating this little scene next to the trail. Actually, I think I already like the animal that created it.
Sharing the trail
We met this guy on the trail recently. His person said he’s a wonderful critter in every way but he was unhappy being separated from all his buddy horses. He had a lot to say about it.
Doggie pride
The trail behind this dog was littered with branches of varying sizes, all bearing tooth marks.
I wonder. Could this be the canine equivalent of a cell phone?
Moos and mini moos
I was reminded recently how much I like cows when we walked on a trail that took us past a pasture full of dairy cows. The girls were contentedly munching on grass but interrupted lunch as walkers came by. They were clearly interested in the human procession. So those beautiful faces with wide, curious eyes were uplifted as they took time out to people watch.
The only thing cuter are calves. Two days later I came upon a small herd grazing near my vet’s office.
Cute and fuzzy
We’ve got a lot of new little lambs and goats and calves this time of year. I haven’t been able to catch any in “romp” mode. And even if I did I doubt if a photo would be as cute as they are whilst romping.
Goats again
Last month I showed you these two goats here. I was disappointed because I didn’t get the pose I was hoping for. This time I did. Aren’t they cute?
