  1. We’ve always lived in a divided country, from the very beginning. At the time of the revolution, it’s likely that the majority of people were just fine with being British citizens. Just like today, it was the lawyers, and other nogoodniks who got things riled up over a non-issue like taxation without representation, that set things in motion and the British would have won if it weren’t for the French interfering in the war on behalf of the dreamers who thought they could put together their own country … which they did and like the same types today, they excluded people of color, people without property, poor people, pretty much everybody except for the well-to-do. And even after the war there were many who thought it a terrible mistake and continued to act as if they were still British citizens. But it was too late and already the country were terribly divided on just about any issue you could think of, including religion.

And then they moved west and committed genocide gladly on behalf of those who wanted to make money from all the new opportunities the west provided. So, these god-fearing folks deliberately decimated millions. One of our great generals even provided the “red-skins” blankets which were contaminated with a deadly disease and liquor which became for the so-called “Indians” another deadly disease.

Etc., etc., etc. And today we’re stuck with Trump who is probably the worst of the worst and one of the most evil human beings on the face of the planet and who just might, on a whim, destroy the planet and all of our divisions will be for naught.

    1. Count your blessings, Andy. You’re on the good side of a border. And who knows? You may yet have a wall between him and you.
