Lighthouse backdrop

Mount Baker looms almost like a mirage behind the New Dungeness Light Station in this shot I took late last month. Baker is part of the Cascade Mountain chain that creates a mountainous north-south spine in Washington State. It is east of Puget Sound and the range frequently isn’t visible from Sequim.

  1. I love this image Kay, I will never tire of seeing lighthouses and the faint almost imperceptible mountain in the background is the icing on the cake!

  2. What a lovely lighthouse. At first glance, I thought that was a cloud back there, but then I realized it what it was! Beautiful photo.

  3. Oh, I LOVE this shot…it’s just perfect! Such beautiful light and the mountain is spectacular as it foists its way into the scene! Fantastic.

Re the snowman: I made an error (first one ever!). I called him the Abominable Snowman. He’s really the Abdominal Snowman.

  4. A very scenic photo. I love lighthouses, they are so interesting and fun to explore and photograph. When my daughter was small, we went camping over two summers to all the lighthouses in Oregon. It was a wonderful and fun experience.
