Port Townsend is a great place to find interesting characters. We followed this fellow down a pier, hoping to get a decent shot of him. “How far can he go?” said DH. Then he disappeared down a stairway to a floating dock and climbed into an inflatable boat. A puff boat? How pirate-like is that?
He motored out to a rather nice sailboat anchored out. Never did get a complete shot of his getup which included just about everything except a sword, eye patch, and parrot on his shoulder. The boat is named Free Spirit.
Not very pirate-like at all! But you did get his photo.
Shades of Jack Sparrow. (And it does beg the question why he is decked out like that.)
He has the looks of a pirate but could use a bigger ship with a mean looking crew.

What a great shot of this guy. Maybe he’s on his way to Alaska to steal some gold from prospectors who have already discovered it? Or maybe he’s just a strange person who really thinks he’s a pirate. Or maybe he’s dressed like that to attract folks with cameras – like you? Well, it’s all possible! Sheesh!
