Narcissi

Though fierce winds have been beating up these little cuties lately they’re still a cheerful sight this time of year. And they’re heartier than they look. They sprouted through our February snows.

Did you know that narcissi is the plural of narcissus? You do now.

  1. There must be a poem in there somewhere: When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils; No, wait! I think Wordsworth got there before me!!

  2. I did not know that. I know lots of narcissists, though. Many are politicians. Some are beautiful flowers – narcissi. Narcissi…hmm…sounds like an Italian mafioso. 🙂

  3. Oh so pretty – and I do fear that the winds and rain have done the poor flowers in. We saw the first field of tulips in Skagit starting to bloom last weekend – the roads will be crammed with tulip viewers from now until the end of the month – we were thinking of going down before the weekend but the rain is not fun to view flowers in – so we’l wait for a weekday evening next week – more flowers will be blooming then anyway.
