The long view

On a clear day you can look across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and see all the way to the whitecapped Canadian Coastal Mountains. Between here and there are the San Juan Islands and the occasional passing ship.

Really, I post every day!
I’ve heard from several people lately that they haven’t gotten current posts when they’ve visited this blog. I’ve had the same problem. I spent time with my web host tech support to troubleshoot. According to them, the problem was with my computer system which, they say, is “lazy” and does not automatically refresh to show new posts. I was instructed to clear my browser history (Google “clear browser history” for instructions). This helped but has not solved the problem. I find I can access the current post by hitting the “refresh” button on the browser. Alternatively, click on “Home” on the upper right hand corner of the blog post.

If anyone out there is more technically proficient and can explain why this is occurring and how to fix it, I’d certainly appreciate further information! And, no…a new computer is not in the budget.

  1. Nice fresh air scene.
Today was the first time in the last few days that have been taken directly to the latest post. Maybe tech support fixed the problem and kept it to them self. The lazy thing about your computer seems far fetched to me. If it happens to other people it is not your computer’s fault. The problem is with the web sight.

  2. Occasionally we get ships like that passing through. I always like to get it name and look it up to see where it came from and where it is going.
When I have a problem and try everything I know, sometimes a simple restart will take care of things. I am amazed how many times it has worked for me.

  3. It’s a lovely photograph, Kay. And reminds me of the ships I would watch on Lake Superior when I lived in Duluth, Minnesota as a kid. I’m having the same problem but when your blog name comes up in my Blogger “reader” list everything works fine.

  4. What a pretty view it is!

Your blog always comes up every day, at least for me, and usually at the same time in the night. There are a couple of blogs I follow that don’t seem to update for two weeks or so, and then all of a sudden there’s fifteen posts all at once, even though they’re dated on different days- and visits to them beforehand never show new posts.

  5. This looks like a watercolor painting to me. Of course, many things look like watercolor paintings to me these days. Gotta get these cataracts taken care of.
