In addition to finding the local herd of elk on Saturday, there were also groups of trumpeter swans not far away. Like the elk they were at a distance but my little Lumix camera helped to bring them home in a photo. Thanks again to SAM for alerting me to this mini wildlife extravaganza.

We have had a few here every winter, but the numbers keep declining, and this year I have yet to see one. I should do a post!

There is a pair of swans hanging around a pond in a big shopping center down here. They are the only ones I have seen in Florida. I have wondered if they were imported and then disabled from flying away. What do I know?
