Election Day

ballot

I can’t imagine that it’s news to anyone that today is election day in the U.S.

I’ve voted. That’s about the only positive thing I can think of about this entire election cycle. And tonight I think I’m going to have a good, stiff drink.

  1. At least the robocalls should come to an end. It will be nice if all the negative politics drop off the news cycles soon. We can only hope.

  2. We can hope that there are enough people in this country who still have a sense of what a democracy is all about and what this country is all about. If not, well…there are several countries that have thrown out the welcome mat…

  3. Good news is, one of them is going to loose! Bad news is, one of them is going to win. And finally we can be done with one of the worst election cycles in history.

  4. I worry that the aftermath is going to be uglier than what’s already come. I have faith in the American people not to follow a demagogue off a proverbial cliff, but he and his supporters are not going to take this well.

  5. We can only move forward and do good where we can – it is uphill from here on out – but Americans are usually good hearted – let’s hope that wins out over the vile ones.

  6. Commenting on this on Friday, 11/11; lots has happened, and I will refrain from discussing the remarks on social medial since Wednesday. Suffice it to say that I am terribly disappointed that 49+% of eligible voters in the US did not exercise their right to vote. Very disappointing. We need to get Civics back in the classrooms.
