Last Saturday was a Special Olympics basketball championship tournament in Bremerton. As he has for a number of years, my longtime friend David coached his son’s team.
We try to make it to the tournament each year if we can.
Our team faced stiff competition in both games they played.
In the end everyone is a winner and all the athletes earn medals.
What a great event. And I like all the medals. As I’ve gotten older I’ve come to think less and less of “competition.” What’s with all these competitive events – e.g. the TV reality shows. What crap! Can’t we do anything anymore without competing with others and crying fake tears?
I particularly like the sense of movement in these shots.
