I can already tell he’s sort of ‘out of order’ in his placement. Have I ever seen one not standing in water? Don’t think so.
I’m guessing he’s hanging on to a part of your roof. But from heron after he’ll look for a body of water.
He’s quite an impressive looking fellow.
Wow – great shot. I saw one, one time, standing on a tin roofed barn. I can’t wait to see more tomorrow. The definition on the feathers is fabulous.

That is an unusual looking heron. He has his head tucked in. Maybe it is too cold up there in Sequim.
