  1. It is a beautiful sight, Kay.

I started reading The Boys in the Boat today about the University of Washington crew team that won gold at the 1936 Olympics. The boy who is being written about at the beginning lived a hardscrabble life in Sequim. I feel I know the area!

  2. I highly recommend “The Boys in the Boat” to anyone looking for a well-written story that’s filled with interesting details, from history of the Depression era to the rise of Hitler, crewing, and the lives of the young men who transcended so much to become winners. Joe Rantz, one of the key characters, spent part of his life in Sequim. It’s a great read!

  3. I am SO happy to hear that both you and Jack liked the book. DH is reading it, too, and is enjoying all the action and historical events. Because it is so visual, it should be made into a movie. Where is Redford and Sundance when we need him?! Incidentally, great photo.
