They’ve been doing some dolling up around downtown Sequim lately. There are new purple benches, new purple bike racks and (ta da!) new purple trash cans. I think I read that the city fathers got a grant to do this.

oh, this is great! by now you must know i love purple! what a great color. almost the color of our bedroom ceiling… 😀
(ah, and to answer your question; yes, when it rains more people use public transport. others hop in their car then. but especially young people dont have a car. for most dutch a car comes when you get kids and all that stuff. and thats often not before 30).
The city fathers must have consulted with the city mothers before coming up with these rich purple trash receptacles.
