Going hungry

I used to have spare change – cash – in my wallet. And when I wanted to save a bit for something extra I could reliably find a money here and there to feed the bank.

These days I have a debit card. I don’t carry much cash. Garage sales are about the only places that don’t take debit cards. And my piggy bank. The poor guy is going hungry.

  1. So true – we’ve saved up coins in a quart jar – it almost always is at right around 110.00 when it is full – but it takes a lot longer to fill these days.

  2. Very cute, Kay. I am just the opposite. I often pay with $20 bills. The ones I get back in change are saved for golf course tips. The quarters get put in car cup-holders for parking meters. And the other coins just weigh down my pocket until I decide I have to start giving exact change. Or put some coins in the cashier’s jar.

  3. haha!
even though the banking system in the US is way behind the one here… the use of debit cards in especially restaurants is so much better organized than here!! i really miss that.
