Barbecue fired up and ready? There are plenty waiting at the hardware store if the old one didn’t make it through winter. Check.
Flag flying? Check.
Now, if you haven’t already done it, it’s time to thank those who’ve fought and served, and send a prayer of thanks to those who’ve lost their lives in the service of their country.
Lousy weather in Minnesota for Memorial Day. I guess we should focus on the traditional meaning of the day rather than picnics and camping, but it would be nice to have sunshine. Haven’t made a watermelon basket yet but decided to try it for our next get-together.
Ready, Set, oh wait -it is raining – well, have to have our bbq indoors I guess – run out to the deck to cook it and then eat indoors. Burgers, cole slaw, baked beans, fruit salad and a cobbler and ice cream for dessert – I’m read.

It’s classic Memorial Day weather in Sequim today. That means it’s cold, windy, and threatening rain. A perfect day for hot, homemade soup. . .and staying indoors if possible.
