Gratitude

A friend of mine posted a good idea on Facebook last summer: keep a “gratitude jar.” Every time you think of something that you’re grateful for, write it down and put it into the jar. At the end of the year go through the jar and review all the things you were thankful for. Here’s my 2012 gratitude jar, just before I added one last thing: my gratitude for this blog – and you, Blog Follower!

Happy New Year! What are you grateful for?

  1. That’s a nice jar and a great idea but it would take too much effort on my part to keep the thing going all year. I’m essentially lazy. Gratitude is important, though. I guess I’m most grateful to be still alive and kicking at my advanced age and still able get out and play golf and ride bike and stuff like that. I’m also grateful that it doesn’t snow in Ocala. 🙂 Well, usually. Someone told me it did snow a little bit here in 1989.

  2. What a great idea! In fact, I’m thinking of applying the concept to some other areas…what might work for me is putting any negative thought to papaer and into a jar with the idea that the thought has now left me, no longer taking up space in my head. My goal…to get as few pieces of paper in that jar as possible! Happy New Year!

  3. A beautiful image and thought – grateful to have more health than sickness, loved ones, and freedom to pursue passions:) Happy New Year to you!

  4. What a great idea! I am grateful for this blog. I wish to move there someday, so I sign in every morning to see what Sequim has to offer! Thanks to you for donating your time to all of us followers. 🙂

and i really enjoyed your comments! regarding camping; we thought about it, but how uninformed we were! we really thought it would be a bit warmer in the areas we went to than it actually was….
