Best of the Peninsula – Vision

Voters selected Walmart in the Peninsula Daily News polling “Vision” category. The honors are divided between the Walmart in Sequim and in Port Angeles. I’m not certain if “vision” means optometric care and/or dispensing opticians, which refers to fitting and selling glasses. But I guess if you like the Walmart experience getting your vision fix there makes sense too.

  1. What is the Walmart experience?
I think for a lot of people up here right now, it’s just about going wherever you can afford to go.
We’ve used both a private practice up here and Walmart and preferred Walmart because they are linked with 1-800-Contacts and they price match.

  2. Good point, Shannon. Like everyone else, I have to budget carefully. But I find the size and scale of Walmart overwhelming and hate that because it’s so big it puts locals at a disadvantage. . .or out of business.

  3. We like Costco…used to go for eye exams with a private doctor but went to Costco to fill the prescription. WOW you can’t beat those Costco prices on eyeglasses.
