Disconnected

Anyone remember what these used to look like? Or the last time you used one?

I was in the mountains. . .my cell phone didn’t work. . .neither did the pay phone! Maybe that’s what happened with this one.

  1. It probably didn’t get used enough to justify its cost. I remember when it cost a dime to make a call from a pay phone. Seems like a lifetime ago. 🙂

  2. What is that odd contraption you speak of 😉
I wish we could go back to those days sometimes. It seems the more advanced we become with communication technology the less advanced we become with actual communication.

  3. Ah, pay phones. Another thing my daughter doesn’t understand at all – “But why didn’t they just use a cell phone?”

  4. Yeah, rarely seem them anymore. Most of the time (before cells, of course), I was happy to find one when needed, but also remember they usually felt dirty, slimey, sticky from all those wonderful San Francisco germs.

  5. Shannon, I know what you mean. People don’t seem to want to talk or spend time with one another as much anymore. More the 128 characters seems to be unthinkable, too.
