Last picture

Hi everyone…this is going to be my last picture for the site.  I have enjoyed doing it and have really appreciated everyone’s visits and comments!  I have met so many kind people through it and have had many interesting exchanges.  If there is someone local who wants to take it over, let me know within the next two weeks and I’ll get you in touch with someone who can help you with that.

Thanks again and I wish you all smooth sailing ahead!

  1. Shannon,

I’ll definitely miss your pics of Sequim area. They have been inspirational. I’ve only done my daily photo site for less than a year (inspired, also, by yours) and thinking of stopping when I reach my one year anniversary.

I hope you do find someone to “take over” the Sequim Daily Photo Site. I have really enjoyed your photos and they have served to make me feel at home when I visited Sequim.

    Thanks!

  2. Shannon thanks for your eyes into Sequim. And of course Norma before you. I truly hope to see someone else take over, seeing this site every morning is something I greatly look forward to, hoping that my “someday”, will be soon. I wish you well!

  3. Thanks for doing such an awesome job! Sorry to hear the news that this is your last pic, but I can only imagine this can get tough after a while. If we were local I would sign up for a year, but we are a ways off from that day yet. Best wishes to you and your family, and perhaps our families will cross paths in the beauty of Sequim some day in the future.

  4. Thank you, Shannon, for all of the wonderful pictures you’ve posted during the last year. I have really enjoyed discovering the area through the lens of your camera(s). You have a great “eye”, and have enriched my life and fueled my dreams by sharing it with us.
Posting something so often is a huge responsibility; I can only imagine how that feels. I wonder if this job could be spread out a bit. Maybe several people could rotate the responsibility? Say, one person posts every Monday, another on Tuesdays, etc. I really hope that someone will take up the baton, and carry on the tradition. I’ll really miss seeing a new photograph of this beautiful area every day.
I, too, hope to relocate to Sequim (as soon as I can sell my house here in Austin, Texas). Perhaps we’ll meet the next time I’m in the area.
Best wishes to you and yours!

  5. So sorry to hear that you will not be posting anymore. Thank you as always for your visits and kind comments to my blog. Wishing you all the happiness in the world.

  7. You have done a wonderful service for Sequim sharing so many beautiful things about the Sequim area. I have enjoyed learning about and appreciating the community where my husband Bob grew up.You will be missed as was Norma, hopefully someone will step forward and continue this wonderful page. Thank you and good luck with your next venture.

  8. Shannon, your pictures have been wonderful! I know how much work is involved and appreciate your dedication. Think of all the people all over the world whom you have opened a window to this beautiful place we live.

  9. Just want to say thank you for the opportunity to see all of your beautiful pictures. You are a wonderful photographer with a great eye for subject and composition. So sorry you’re discontinuing the postings.
Maybe a few people could take over and rotate? I hope we’ll still be able to view the archives for our daily *Sequim fixes*.
Best wishes and good luck to you in all of your future endeavors.
Thanks again for sharing so generously.

  11. Thank you all for your comments and emails! I appreciated each one. Sequim is a special place and I’m glad I was able to share it with you for the time I did.
To those who asked…unless someone else takes over the site, it will shut down this month and won’t be available to see anymore.

  12. Awwww, Shannon! I’m SO sorry you’re calling it quits, though I’m sure it’s been a really big commitment. Your pictures have been wonderful, stunning, creative, interesting, and great fun. I’ll miss your fine perspective. Thank you for all the time and effort you’ve put into keeping this going.

  13. How will I get through Iowa winters without my Sequim fix? Thank you for sharing your pictures and your perspective on Sequim with the world, you often made my day. I hope our paths will cross sometime.

  14. WHEN I move to Sequim, we’ll have to get together publish an Olympic Peninsula Daily Photo with Sequim as the center piece. Perhaps having several people contributing might prove to be an interesting concept.

  15. Shannon, so sorry to learn you are ending your stint with the Sequim Daily Photo. You have done a marvelous job in the year you have contributed to the site as well as previously filling in for Norma during her reign. You will be missed as was Norma and hope that someone will come forward and take over so all of us can continue to enjoy the sites of Sequim through the lens of your cameras.

  16. Shannon, am also sorry and surprised to see you end your endeavor.

  17. Shannon,
I have looked forward every day for quite a while to seeing what’s going on in Sequim through your camera. So sorry to hear that you won’t be continuing with Sequim Daily Photo. It is a great site and you have a talented eye for the photos and inquisitive mind for the story behind them. Have you considered becoming a journalist or working for a newpaper or magazine? Kudos for an awesome job. Your talents will be missed.

  19. Shannon, I am sorry to read that you will be ending your time with this site. I have enjoyed seeing Sequim through your eyes. The time commitment is tough for many people, and I fully understand that. Thanks for showing me a part of the country I don’t know very well. And, of course, I wish you happiness and success in all that you choose to do in the future.
