Refuge work continues

I posted at the beginning of February about the work that was being done to the trailhead/kiosk area at the Dungeness Spit.  The paper then said it was due to be done in March but looks like they are still working on it.  It didn’t slow down visitors over the weekend, that’s for sure.  When we went there yesterday, the entire parking lot was full.  Every single spot except for one handicapped spot was full.  I have never seen it that way in the entire time I’ve lived here.  The overflow lot down by the camping loops was even full.

Hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day weekend.

A list of local events for the day.

  1. We’ve lived in the north and in the south. We’ve noticed that in the north, roadwork is often never finished! There are roads in the Minneapolis area that have been under construction since I was in high school (1950s)!!!

That’s not so much true in the south. Generally, because of the weather, I suppose, the roads get started and finished much quicker.
