Close to sunset

This was around 4:30 last night. I thought the sky looked really cool against the mountains.

Looking for a Pet?  Petfinder is a cool site to check out.  I saw a dog on there and I went to check him out yesterday at the humane society.  I don’t need another pet (always want one though!)  I left feeling depressed.  It’s hard seeing dogs like that, I hope they all find homes.   There was this little guy named Milo who I wanted to take home and would if I didn’t think he’d get adopted out easily.  Little Chihuahua mix, just sitting there shaking.  Next to him was a huge dog that non stop barked and lunged.  He’d look over at it shaking and back at me but he never barked or made a noise.  I adopted my Lab from the humane society 10 1/2 years ago when we just went for a “visit.”  I’m very thankful we went to visit that day.

  1. Our Purebred Malamute (in the 1980s) was from a Shelter, our Huge Black Dog with Blue Eyes (1990s) was from a Shelter. Our German Shepherd Tess is from the GSD Rescue. I fell in love with GSDs when we visited a Shelter and someone had turned one in and it just sat there silent and grieving, so devoted to an owner that was gone now (death?). The dog was on hold, so he was getting a new home. But then and there we made a big journey to go look at the Rescues..we never regret that day!!! Walking through a Shelter is a hard thing to do, you want to take them all.
Beautiful shot , looks more like a nice summer evening?

  2. My sweet girl Ivy is a shelter cat. I volunteer at our local shelter, and she was an itty bitty runt in a rambunctious litter. When I picked her up to give her face a quick swab with a damp towel, she snuggled right into my arms and I stopped and said, “Oh, shoot. We’re getting another cat, aren’t we?” She came home with me as soon as she got the all clear to be on her own!
