Holds

Oh no! Our Sequim Library is closed for remodel! But wait…if you are a North Olympic Library System patron, there is still a way to get something to read, watch, and listen to. Log on to the NOLS website. Use the online card catalog and put a hold on what you would like to check out. Once the items arrive, you are notified by email or phone. The “Holds” are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Once you are notified, you stop in during the appropriate time, find your holds by the letter of your last name, and then check out your materials. That was easy. I’m in the thumbnail picking up a new book on CD.

The remodel is going to be awesome…and I know it will be perfectly done…because Eli, of next door neighbors “Shannon and Eli” fame, is the foreman on the job.

  1. Sounds like a good system. If you have access to a computer once in a while you can log on to the catalog but those who don’t use a computer on a daily basis can be notified by phone.

  2. The security word it just gave me was “sopistication” lol spelled just like that. It gave me a chuckle.

Anyway, he said he had a little fun with you when you came by. I love going to the library, so I am missing it. But it is handy having him there, if my reserved book comes in I just ask him to pick it up for me. Can’t wait for it to re-open. It definitely is in good hands (might be a little biased there, but it’s true too).
