4-H

4-H.JPG
According to Wikipedia, “4-H in the United States is a youth organization administered by the Cooperative Extension System of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) with the mission of “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.”[1] The four “H”‘s stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The organization serves over 9 million members in the United States from ages 5 to 21 in almost 100,000 clubs[2]. 4-H clubs and related organizations now exist in many other countries as well; the organization and administration varies from country to country.”
The Clallam County Fair gives 4-H youth a chance to share with their community what they have learned. This sign is on the side of the “Cat Barn”. Do you have a 4-H group in your community?

  1. It’s been a long time since I’ve thought about this wonderful organization. Since our fair opens on August 23rd, I’ll be able to enjoy their work and activity again as I tour the animal barn. Nice shot!!

  2. we have an active 4-H club in our community, and it is alot of fun to go to the fair and see the various projects.

  3. J’ai cherche sur Internet, mais je n’ai rien trouve en France, je ne connais pas cette association et dommage qu’elle n’existe pas en France. Mais peut etre bientot, on ne sait jamais

I have seek on Internet, but I do not have anything finds in France, I do not know this association and damage which it does not exist in France. But can be soon, one never knows

  4. I was a member of 4-H for several years when I was a child growing up in Oklahoma. And if I were ever to give a speech explaining what had made me the woman I am today, I would have to include 4-H. I learned so many things that I draw upon today (and some I wish I’d draw upon more) as a result of the experiences I had there with the organization.

And yes, there are 4-H clubs here in Arkansas, all over the place.

  5. My county,Santa Rosa,is a mostly rural county.
4-H,is evident at most local functions.
I am inclined to have trust in the 4-H kids.
I take it for granted that they have a good sense of values.
Thanks for reminding me about them Norma.
    Have a fine day.
    P.S.Cat Barn?
