Kids Day

The week leading up to the Irrigation Festival is packed with activities. Today was Kids Day. It started off with a parade down Fir Street. Children came decked out in costume and then moved on to other activities. One of the most popular was “Touch a Truck”. Several of the local businesses and service organizations brought vehicles for children to climb in, touch, and ask questions about. They then moved on to more important things, like rock painting. I’ll be featuring pictures from these events over the next couple of days in our count down to the big parade!

6 days and counting…

  1. We had a kids day, on Saturday, in Brookville. The police and fire department, with sirens wailing, escorted a whole lot of little kids all dressed up in baseball uniforms. It must have been a long and tiring walk for very young, short legs. I think your “touch a truck” day was good for kids. And your photograph of this beautiful truck with shiny hubcaps is very nice.

I am anxious for you to see the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak that came to Brookville, Ohio yesterday. It is the first one I have seen since we moved here 44 years ago.

  2. I also subscribe to the Delta Daily Photo and she was talking about the irrigation ditches being turned on today and what a big deal that is in her community! It’s fun to see all the things happening, similarities and differences in our worlds! I’m enjoying your blog. bytheway, I work with Healthy Families in a similar program called Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, http://www.unt.edu/hippy
