About to Disappear..from it’s present location

townhallsi.jpg Old Town Hall is disappearing from it’s present location. built in 1914, the building served as a town hall and then later as the Public Works Department. When they out grew the space, the building sat empty for the last couple of years. Now the city needs the space to expand the current city hall. The City of Sequim offered it to the highest bidder and the building was purchased for $1001 last week. It will be moved to another location and be renovated with the hopes of attracting a tenant. I’ve also included a small thumnail of the building in it’s present location. 1. Lovely building, so glad it will be preserved. I can imagine it is totally unsuited to modern needs!

ham: reminds me of those places in Europe (I’m thinking of Finland) where they move older buildings which are in danger of being lost and make a sort of theme park – not the sort with rides – of them. “Living museums”.

  2. Yes, how come they want to move it? It looks so nice from your photo (I would have payed 1003$ to over bid John!!). Nice photo anyway, I love the red background. Good luck with your new town hall then.
